About
TRE, Thorpe Real Estate, is your trusted agency for property in Nigeria, built on its own verification trust layer. We are not a developer or builder: we source and verify homes, assess every provider against the TRE Gold Standard and its family of marks, handle the client end to end, and stand behind it all with the dated, revocable TRE-Verified mark.
In Nigeria's property market, the hard question is rarely price. It is credibility. Capable, ethical developers sit alongside opaque and risky ones, and clients, especially the diaspora, have no reliable way to tell them apart. Most platforms help you find a property. We make everyone behind it something you can trust, and then we do the work.
TRE is built by a founder who has spent a career in risk, advisory and building the systems businesses run on: contract roles in institutional finance held under a long-running consultancy, founder and managing director of an advisory firm in the claims and risk sector, and the founder of T&S, which installs the operating layer for founder-led businesses. That is a background in diligence, risk and standing behind judgement, the exact discipline TRE brings to a property market that has lacked it. Wider team and advisory board to be added.
I have spent my career close to two things: risk, and trust. In institutional finance, on contract with firms including Mizuho, Cantor Fitzgerald and JP Morgan, my work was to understand how things fail before they fail. Later I founded Glidepath Group, an advisory firm in claims and risk, built on the same discipline: look hard at the evidence, and tell people the truth about what it shows.
When I turned that lens on Nigerian property, one problem stood above every other. The market does not lack demand or ambition. It lacks trust. Capable, honest developers stand in the same crowd as those who take deposits and disappear, and a buyer, especially one sending money home from abroad, has almost no reliable way to tell them apart. People lose savings they spent years building. Good developers are punished for the sins of the bad.
Thorpe Real Estate exists to remove that fog. We are not a developer or a builder. We are the agency built on its own verification layer: we assess every provider against a defined standard, we sell and let only what we have verified, and we handle the transaction end to end, standing behind the verdict at every step.
I chose to build this as a standard, not a slogan. A mark that is earned, dated, monitored, and taken away publicly if standards slip. A standard we intend to co-develop with the associations and authorities of this industry, so that it carries weight beyond my own opinion. That is harder and slower than the alternative. It is also the only version worth doing.
This matters enough that I put my name on it. Not a brand name. My name. When a provider carries a TRE mark, they carry my word that the work was done properly, and I do not intend to give anyone reason to doubt it.

Every provider is vetted by Thorpe's own team against a fixed framework, consistent, and independent of the provider.
Criteria are set in-house and being taken to industry associations and authorities for endorsement and periodic review.
The badge is time-boxed, renewed, and withdrawn if standards lapse, with withdrawals published.
Verification is an assessment on the evidence, not a guarantee, insurance, or financial advice. Clients keep their own counsel.
Independence is the product, so we hold ourselves to the same discipline we apply to providers: we name the frameworks that govern us, we state registrations with numbers and dates as each completes, and we claim nothing before then.

Title checks work against the instruments the law recognises: Certificates of Occupancy, Governor's Consent and registry searches.

The honest price and terms check on tenancies reflects Lagos tenancy legislation, including agency fee limits and receipt requirements as they apply.
TRE verifies and informs, it does not hold your money. We are not a financial intermediary and we do not offer escrow. You pay the provider directly, through your own bank and your own solicitor. What we give you is accurate information and verification, so you can pay with confidence. Verification is an assessment on the evidence, not a guarantee, insurance or financial advice, and nothing on this page is legal advice.
A standard for trust is stronger built with the industry than declared by any one company. We are opening conversations with the associations, authorities and providers who want to raise the bar for trust in Nigerian property. This is about building the standard, not raising capital.
To co-develop and endorse the Gold Standard, so its criteria carry weight beyond our own opinion.
Credible developers, agents, landlords and hosts ready to be verified and to supply the homes TRE sells and lets.
